Our program began when a young lady named Victoria Weslich was crowned Miss Placentia 1934. Since 1964, this program has annually selected a titleholder to represent and serve the local community and in 1976 the program officially aligned with the Miss America Organization. Since that time, our program has awarded over $150,000 in college scholarships to young women pursuing a higher education.
Many of our titleholders have been very successful at the state competition and placed in the top 5. They have earned additional scholarships, awards and special recognitions at the state finals. In fact, our very own Miss Placentia 1996, Stephanie Baldwin was crowned Miss California 2001 and placed in the top 15 at Miss America. Additionally, Placentia's Outstanding Teen 2007, Jordan Krinke, went on to win the title of Miss California's Outstanding Teen that same year.
The Miss Placentia and Miss Yorba Linda Competition is a local preliminary to the Miss California and Miss America Competitions. Our program is devoted to helping young women to reach their personal and scholastic goals. Each contestant competes in interview, talent, evening wear, and physical fitness. We are proud of our over 50+ year history of serving the local community and providing hundreds of women with college scholarships.
The Miss Placentia and Miss Yorba Linda Outstanding Teen competition is a local preliminary to the Miss California and Miss America Outstanding Teen Competitions. Our teen program is open to young ladies ages 13 to 17 who either live in Placentia or Yorba Linda or attend a school in the PYLUSD.
